Rome
Car Rental - In the large cities you will
not want a car because there is usually good public
transportation, parking will be expensive and you
can receive parking tickets if you park in unauthorized
zones. The driving situation will be difficult. Try
to plan your trip to do your time in the city on each
end of the trip, and countryside time in between.
This way you can arrive and spend time in the city,
pickup a rental car and drive out to the countryside,
then drop it off at the city you plan to visit before
you leave.
For example, fly into Rome and spend a few nights.
Then pickup your Rental Car and drive
out of Rome to another part of Europe. Spend a week
in this city and then drive to another one and drop
off your rental car. Spend your last few nights in
this other city and then fly home from there.
Of course if you are planning to stay in Rome
for the entire trip you most likely will want to use
the public transportation. The bus system has stops
at all the major attractions and is very convenient.
This way your time is spent seeing the sights versus
trying to drive around the area and getting lost in
the process.
In case you do decide you would still like to rent
a car. There are quite a few Car Rental Agencies
in Rome Italy you can rent cars from. Pickups
and drop offs are at the airport and various other
locations throughout Rome. You’ll want to comparison
shop with each company and find the best rates for
you. Some offer better prices for longer stays and
some offer upgrades to better cars for little or no
extra charge. Just ask them if there are any specials
and they will be glad to assist you.
